MUMS' mission is to provide support to parents in the form of a networking system that matches them with other parents whose children have the same or similar condition. Texas Department of State Health Services now has a program called Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN). 
This program provides services to children with extraordinary medical needs, disabilities, and chronic health conditions. The health care benefits include payments for medical care, family support services, and related services not covered by Medicaid, CHIP, private insurance, or other "third party payors." If you are a resident of Texas, visit this site to see if they can provide the assistance you need. Be aware that there may be a waiting list for health care benefits. If you are outside the state of Texas, check your State Health Services to see what might be available.
